The Berklee Stage at Boston Book Festival features five current Berklee College of Music artists: Nativa, MARO, Tyson Jackson, Mayah Dyson, and Martin Tamisier.
Nativa (12:00 p.m.–12:50 p.m.) is a singer-songwriter, bassist, and guitarist from Medellín, Colombia. Her music is a sonic journey that merges rhythms from the Andean mountains with pop and world music sounds.
MARO (1:00 p.m.–1:50 p.m.) is a singer-songwriter, pianist, and guitarist from Lisbon, Portugal. She began studying music at age 4, and received her conservatory piano diploma and a high school certificate in science and technologies at the age of 19. Currently in her last semester at Berklee, she plans to release her first album by the end of the year.
Tyson Jackson (2:00 p.m.–2:50 p.m.) discovered his love for music when he was 3 in his hometown of West Palm Beach, Florida, beating on hymnals within the pews at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Gospel remains one of his favorite styles to play, alongside R&B and jazz.
Mayah Dyson (3:00 p.m.–3:50 p.m.) is a singer-songwriter, actress, dancer, and model from Woodbridge, Virginia. Currently a senior at Berklee, Dyson was selected to be in the first season of Kelly Rowland's Chasing Destiny. Through Rowland, she was given the opportunity to perform with Solange during her first appearance on Saturday Night Live.
Martin Tamisier (4:00 p.m.–4:50 p.m.) is a singer-songwriter and drummer from France. Inspired by society and self-understanding, his music is a blend of pop, jazz, and African music with French lyrics. Tamisier's music has no boundaries and embraces all the colors this world has brought him.
